How to use the Moon Play Moon Journal Part 3-Seasonal Reflection Questions

how to use the Moon Play moon journal seasonal reflection pages

This is part three of my Moon Play Moon Journal How to guide. Make sure to read part one about the Moon Play Moon Journal Daily Snapshot page and part two about the weekly moon ritual pages. In this third post, you will learn how to use the seasonal pages with reflection questions and why reflecting at the end of any event or time period is essential to the creative process in life.

There are many moon journals out on the market these days as aligning to cyclical living and reclaiming our femininity is top of the mind for women and female-identifying entrepreneurs. I created my own as an answer to my own needs in regards to tracking my daily life and analyzing the data I collected over the periods that are marked by the moon phases.

The Moon Play Moon Journal is a minimalist moon journal that contains the pages for tracking our daily activities and vibe with the moon as well as pages for moon rituals and seasonal reflection. In this series, I will be sharing how I use each section of the moon journal and the benefits of this spiritual self care routine.

Let’s get started!

What is the Moon Play Moon Journal Seasonal Reflection Page, and Why Does it Matter?

The Moon Play Moon Journal (MoJo) seasonal reflection pages is a spread contained in the journal to document the last season you lived through. By using the reflection questions on the pages, you can observe the gifts and challenges with gratitude and decide what wisdom you carry into the next season. This is essential for feeling more in control of your life and honoring what you’ve experienced.

I didn’t used to reflect on my lived experiences.

I just barreled through life, setting goal after goal and never feeling a sense of achievement or growth. I just couldn’t wait to get to the next thing. And then burnout happened. A couple of times, actually. (Yeah, I know. I didn’t learn the first couple of times. Everything’s a cycle, ya know?)

About four years ago, I was introduced to the idea of cyclical living and the importance of reflecting at the end of a cycle. The moon is our guide on that journey. She waxes and wanes each month to let us know what energy we have available to us.

Of course, there are claims that the moon doesn’t affect us mentally or emotionally. But science doesn’t allow for magic, wonder and miracles. So I invite you to experiment with you, your moods, your energy and your own lived experience.

Let me show you how.

Benefits of the Moon Play Moon Journal Seasonal Reflection Questions

I shared in my last post about how weekly moon rituals have benefitted me and my self care routines. All of that data becomes helpful in a monthly ritual of reflection.

It takes less than 15 minutes to review your daily snapshots and weekly moon rituals to get a sense of the themes and wisdom you gleaned in the past 30 days or so. Then you answer the reflection questions and distill the wisdom to be carried into the next part of the cycle.

My most recent reflection surprised me and inspired a powerful feeling of gratitude for the month I had just lived. One of my limiting belief tracks on repeat was interrupted with evidence of abundance, joy and right action.

By creating time and space for daily, weekly and monthly reflection, life begins to take on new meaning and show you what a wonderful life it really is.

Alright, enough of the benefits, let’s get started on a new monthly habit!
