I recently did an event where I played a “fortune teller” and did astrology and oracle readings for the guests. The theme was masquerade ball, so I thought it was fitting to have me there in my Goddess costume doing readings.
The impact was inspiring!
All of the attendees were parents of children at the elementary school my girls attended. This particular event is an auction fundraiser that blows other types of fundraising events out of the water in terms of money raised and actual enjoyment of the participants. So much so, that this event has a reputation for ending in fist fights in the parking lot because the boys had too much fun and imbibed a little too much! (True story, it happened the year before I performed for the Gatsby themed event as a Showgirl!)
These kinds of events are actually very Libra in essence. Beautiful surroundings, getting a chance to play dress up with a fun theme, the exchange of goods for proceeds to benefit the community and the chance to do “adult” things like drink and let loose for suburban parents of young children in a safe space.
Why were there so many Libras & Pisces there?
The most surprising outcome of the event for me was the number of Libra Moons I met and read for. Of the 15 birth charts I read, 7 of them were Libra moons. Maybe they were drawn to the sparkly headdress I was wearing? Libras love beauty in all things!
The other dominant sign was Pisces—Sun, Moon or Rising. I had a large flock of para-educators for special needs visit my table. Every single one of them dominantly Pisces. It was fun to experience. True healers in the education space—using their gifts to give voice to children who can’t verbalize. Beautiful and inspiring.
Intuition and Reading People
Since I began studying astrology, I’ve started to see the archetypal patterns play out in life. Not just by directly asking people their Sun signs, but the keywords that people use when they talk everyday. We each have ALL the signs of the zodiac in our birth chart, btw.
So when I hear certain words being spoken, I now determine which planet (or facet of the jewel I am conversing with,) is speaking.
For example, when people use the words “overwhelm” or “sensitive,” I immediately intuit that they are having an issue with a watery planet, maybe even a transiting one. There are plenty of other words like “boundaries” (Saturn,) “optimism” (Jupiter,) “unmotivated” (Saturn/Mars,) “curious” (Gemini,) “sensual” (Venus,) etc.
Apparently, it’s not something I can turn off. I believe that we can sense intuitively which archetypes we are dealing with when interacting with others, even before I began digging into astrology. Some are more adept at it than others and are called psychics. But I think it’s just sensitivity to energy.
Going into the Liminal Space is Psychically Exhausting
I don’t need a whole hour to blow someone’s mind about their natal gifts and present situation. At most, I spent 20 minutes with a person, though the line started to get long. I’m told some people waited in line for over 40 minutes for their turn.
It was fun to do a sort of speed-dating-style of reading. And for some, I only read oracle cards. I listened to my intuition on that one. I could sense that there were some people’s charts I didn’t want to experience psychically. Or maybe they didn’t want me to, lol.
All in all, I read 15 charts and did over 30 oracle readings in 4 ½ hours—without a break.
It was a huge learning lesson. If you’ve ever been a performer and done a show, or any type of experience in which your adrenaline was surging for an extended period of time, you know how that felt to me. I was visibly shaking by the end.
Believe me when I say that viewing an astrology chart is a mystical experience. The chart itself lives in the liminal spaces that we can’t go to in our physical form. As astrologers, we are guided with the help of our spirit guides. It’s pretty magical.
Am I really a Fortune Teller?
Technically, I am. I had the privilege of sharing messages with people through the planets speaking to me in their chart as well as the wisdom of the oracle through the cards I pulled for them. It was entertaining, informative and inspiring—for me and the guests!
Which is why I now offer event astrology readings.
This is a natural progression for this lifetime entertainer. Instead of high-kicking as a Showgirl, I get to engage with people and inspire them with the keys of wisdom in their birth charts. It’s win-win, in my book!
