How to use the daily moon sign to increase productivity
Increase productivity with the moon by using her daily sign for overall well being, clarity and a sense of accomplishment.
If you’ve been in the personal development space for any amount of time, you may have noticed over the last few years that so many people are talking about the moon and using lunar phases to manifest, create, be more productive and even create schedules for ideating, creating, working and resting.
What I haven’t seen more talk about is using the Moon’s monthly trip through the zodiac to dictate activities for more productivity.
The Moon takes 29ish days to go through the entire zodiac, faster than any other planetary body. Which is why I love using her cycles for learning astrology. Her movements show the microcosm of the macrocosm of the larger planetary cycles.
In this post, I’ll be sharing the power of aligning tasks with the moods of the moon so that you can get more done, rest when you need to, and feel fulfilled, accomplished and vital.
Why Would I Want to Increase Productivity With the Moon?
The Moon is moody AF. She goes through each sign every 2-3 days and as she does, she puts on each “costume” of each archetype of the signs. Once you begin tracking the moon, you will notice a pattern to your moods and it matches the mood of the Moon.
What’s more important is the conversations she has with each of your planets in your birth chart every month. As she moves through each sign, she talks to every single one of your natal planets. It’s like a check in. “How are you feeling? What do you need to feel better? What do you need to do to make your job better? What do you need to let go of?” etc.
What happens when the Moon has a conversation with Chiron
I recently had an experience in which my day felt off from the start. I wasn’t unhappy or stressed, but I just felt a sense of heaviness and deep seated emotional energy. I had a long list of tasks that required shining my light, putting myself out there and being the shiny performer that I am.
I couldn’t do it.
I looked at my horoscope to see what the heck was going on and it took me by surprise. The Moon was sitting right on top of Chiron, my core wound. The rush of clarity and understanding was inspiring.
I had tried to figure out for months why every Taurus Moon I felt the intense desire to “be lazy,” skip work and play. At first, I thought it was because Taurus is ruled by Venus, and Venus’ shadow is all about luxuriating, being languid, over-indulging and NOT being productive.
But what this conversation between the Moon and Chiron has been about, every month since the day my core wound was activated, was to have more compassion and allow space for healing instead of pushing through and ignoring the wound.
So, I rearranged my task list and allowed myself to “play.” I still worked, but it was work that I’m really comfortable doing—meaning I feel confident and it was easy to shine. It also helped that the work was practical (Taurus) and detail-oriented (Virgo, another Earth sign for extra support.)
Instead of spiraling and losing an entire day of work by pushing my comfort zone when it was least effective, I was able to end my work day feeling satisfied and accomplished. I allowed my inner child to be nourished with compassion and “easy” tasks that allowed her to feel safe and nurtured.
Personalized Moon Days for Effective Work
Now, I’m not saying that you should tackle this issue in this way. Your Chiron placement may not be in Taurus, or in your 6th house, which focuses on work and daily tasks. Those two key factors were how I was able to mediate the energetic issue I was facing.
What you can do is learn more about each of the planets in your chart and how happy (or not) they are by tracking the Moon’s daily movements. By tracking the Moon and how you feel each day of her journey through the zodiac, you will begin to understand your natal gifts, and empower yourself with the knowledge to grow them up and help them evolve.
Productivity With the Moon Based on Signs
By understanding the archetypes of each sign that the Moon goes through, we can understand which days are best for which tasks in our life. Below, I will share a bit about each sign and then give examples of tasks that are best for those specific days.
Archetypes are the energetic signatures of each sign. They embody the myths, stories and histories of the people who have lived these archetypes. Caroline Myss calls them “patterns of power.” What power do you gain or lose by embodying any of these archetypes at any given time?
Lights and Shadows show how the archetype expresses itself. In the light, it will be expressing in its highest vibration. While in the shadow, it’s expressing in its lowest vibration. There is no right or wrong, the shadows are simply more dense and need light shone on them to transform. (That’s shadow work, by the way.)
The activities given are based on the archetypes, their strengths and how they are expressing in their highest vibration. These are all just guidelines for you to dig in and experiment with what will work for you.

Tips for How to Align Tasks With the Moon
There are a number of considerations to make before you can schedule an entire month based on what sign the Moon is in. We are all unique, have different planetary placements and of course, different Moon signs. Below are my best tips to use this knowledge to align your everyday tasks with the moods of the Moon.
Know Your Moon Sign
By knowing and understanding your Moon Sign you can start to get a feel for how the days feel when the Moon returns to the same sign and degree when you were born. The days surrounding this day will be low energy. Think dark of the Moon time just before a New Moon. My moon is in Scorpio, so I make space for more emotional roller coasters and work that is non-public facing, i.e. no social media tasks.
Begin tracking the Moon for 30 days
Tracking the Moon with a daily habit tracker can do wonders for your confidence and overall mental health. By first taking an observational approach to this, you can understand how your moods affect your work and daily life. Do you feel more irritable and aggressive during the Aries Moon? Do you want to curl up and hide when the Moon is in Cancer?
Since we all have different Moon signs (and needs) this will look different for everyone. By approaching this from a sort of investigative angle, you will learn more about yourself, your emotional landscape and how to adjust your daily work and life to allow for healing, peace and fulfillment.
Start small
When you first look at this method, it can feel overwhelming. So I suggest starting with 1 or 2 signs a month to test. I had already chosen Taurus for money love days and Capricorn for Pinterest tasks. After a month of that, I have adjusted to allow for Taurus days to be worker bee work like Pinterest tasks and Capricorn to be a big picture planning type of time. Scorpio Moons have now become rest days where I will do journaling and self care for my inner child (Moon.)
Increasing Productivity with the Moon in Work and Life
As an entrepreneur, this information has been so helpful in setting myself up for success. Being a small business owner has many challenges and can bring up lots of shadows, trauma and mental health triggers. Being forced out of one’s comfort zone, in any situation can do that. Entrepreneurs choose this everyday they operate their business.
If you don’t own a business and your activities are dictated by other people’s deadlines and project timelines, you can still use this information to your advantage. By knowing when the Moon is in each sign, you can avoid conflict, use the lights of each sign to be more efficient and productive and add more of you to your days by doing one small thing that aligns with the energy of the Moon, just for you.
I would love to hear how you are using the Moon signs to help you live a more fulfilling and vital life. Comment below and share!
